The long train journey has its fair share of enigmatic characters who are quiet and avoid interacting with fellow passengers. They are mostly solo travelers and introverts. They keep to themselves and uphold a safe social distance from others. They are not asocial. They are more interested in the natural scenery as the train passes through stunning landscapes.

Nature lovers, as the author calls them, are a dying breed of humans. They like to stand on doorsteps in a precarious position. This helps them catch the fresh air and take in the surreal beauty and panoramic view. A few of them carry cameras to capture nature. Most take note of their surroundings and absorb everything with their bare eyes. They later capture the scenic memories. There is always a queue at the door. People stand before it, and then a competition begins among fellow nature lovers. Many brave hearts prefer to sit in pairs at the door to soak in the beauty firsthand.
Nature lovers often face many challenges as they pursue their forbidden desires. It’s dangerous. Many people have died by standing close to the door as other trains pass through at close distances. A little extra air thrust, a slight push from behind, or improper safety measures taken by travelers can cause passengers to slip onto the track below a moving train, often with fatal consequences. Sometimes, a few mischievous people from outside throw stones at the trains for sadistic fun, and the stone, after hitting any standing fellow passenger on the door, results in instant death or severe injury. That’s why the TT and other train officials close the door of a moving train, warning passengers not to pursue it.
Other exciting characters on the train occupy the upper berth seats, whether regular or side upper berths. They rarely leave their seats and are often found sleeping on the train. Listening to music, chatting, or simply spending time on the phone is essential for them to pass the time. They are oblivious to what is happening below and spend their time doing what they love.
After getting on the train and settling their luggage, these two mystery people become absorbed in their favorite activities. Nature lovers enjoy the scenery, while those in the upper sleeping berth find peace. Only the TT knows of their presence. The local food vendors and the pantry staff are also aware when taking lunch and dinner orders. These individuals are either absent or unimportant to the other passengers.
The beauty of unity lies in bringing together both the sane and the insane. This occurs regardless of how weak the cohesive forces are. Traveling by train to a common destination requires both normal and eccentric characters to unite and keep the journey entertaining. That’s what our diversity teaches us to do: keep things simple and enjoy the trip without disturbing others.
