Crown Shedding Fall!

Looking and feeling good is critical to confidence. Who doesn’t like to have a fit physique, upright posture, and well-groomed hair? However, we are witnessing a surge in individuals experiencing hair loss. Adults as young as their early twenties are complaining about bald patches. What are the possible causes? What can you do right now to save your hair? Let’s dive in!

Now, when you say hair fall, it may either mean-

Hair breakage: This may be due to the hair’s texture, which tangles easily, nutrient deficiency, or tight hairstyles. Consistent use of heat may also affect the hair’s elasticity, making it more prone to breakage. Processes like bleaching and coloring your hair make the hair shaft thinner. Protein loss also contributes to hair breakage.

Hair fall: Your scalp undergoes a cycle of various phases, including new growth, steady growth, autumn, and hair shedding. This autumn phase is characterized by excessive shedding, a regular occurrence. The problem arises when you shed enough hair, but your hair growth rate doesn’t match. This may be due to insufficient nutrients, excessive drinking, smoking, genetics, sebum secretion, etc.

Reasons may vary from person to person, but here are a few immediate steps you can take to help control shedding.

Intake of Vitamin E:

Vitamin E supplements provide the required nutrients to your scalp and aid hair growth. This little capsule can help prevent hair loss like magic. Evion 400, priced at only Rs. 40, is reasonably available in stores. When taken twice a day for a week, it reduces hair fall to a minimum.

Drink water!

Drinking water is a simple way to flush impurities from your body. We already have a lot of toxins in our bodies, so you need to detox. Period! Hydration ensures that your hair has enough moisture and your scalp is healthy.

Head massages:

Head massages are good in so many ways. However, let’s discuss their importance in combating hair loss first! Hair follicles often get clogged due to dirt, sebum, or dandruff; a good head massage will help free them, paving the way for new hair to grow. You may notice some hair fall during or after your massage, and that’s completely normal. Just let the weakest roots fall, and avoid being too harsh.

A head massage’s second and most important job is to increase blood flow to the scalp. This stimulates further hair growth and helps nutrients seep deeper into the roots.

You can massage your head with any lotion or oil; sometimes, it’s okay not to use anything. I recommend coconut, olive, bhringraj, and aloe vera gel. These products are unique in their ability to reduce hair fall and are readily available at grocery stores or medical shops.

Clarifying Shampoo:

Dust, oil, and hair products can clog the scalp’s pores. A clarifying shampoo once a week can help ensure a clean, healthy scalp, allowing your products to be well absorbed and effective.

Release stress!

Stress is one of the leading causes of many health problems. Some people worry most of the time without even realizing it. A relaxation routine is essential at least once weekly (if not daily). It may be anything from your hobby to a spa visit to Yoga. Meditating, journaling, and maintaining a proper sleep cycle are small steps to help manage stress issues.

Do some yoga:

First of all, Yoga is the ultimate stress reliever. When practiced with the correct breathing rhythm, yoga combines the benefits of cardio, stretching, and meditation. Here are some asanas to get you started!

1. Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward-Facing Dog Pose):

The asana is called the Downward-Facing Dog Pose, resembling a dog bending forward. Hold the pose for about 1-3 minutes. This beginner-level asana must be practiced on an empty stomach in the morning.

Adho Mukha Svanasana improves blood circulation, enabling fresh blood to flow into the head. It compresses the abdominal muscles and improves digestion. The asana also stretches the neck and spine, releasing stress. It relaxes and calms the mind.

2. Ustrasana (Camel Pose):

Camel Pose is a backward bend that opens your heart chakra. Hold it for 30 to 60 seconds. For the best results, practice the asana on an empty stomach in the morning. Your body derives energy from the food you digest, allowing you to perform at your best.

Ustrasana improves digestion and excretion. It opens the chest, relieving trapped stress. It heals and balances the chakras, improves posture, and enhances body strength. It also regulates the menstrual cycle and helps release tension in the ovaries.

3. Vajrasana (Thunderbolt Pose):

Vajrasana is one of the few beneficial poses that can be used after a meal. The Thunderbolt Pose, also known as Diamond Pose, originates from the belief that practicing pranayama in the Vajrasana position makes the human body as strong as a diamond. This beginner-level yoga asana should be practiced for 5-10 minutes.

With regular practice, Vajrasana eliminates constipation. It brings stability to the mind, reduces obesity, and relieves back stress. The pose also helps alleviate stomach disorders, improves blood circulation, and tones muscles.

The scalp is nothing but skin. Hence, taking care of it as you do your face will help immensely with hair loss and promote hair growth. Additionally, keeping the ends moisturized with regular conditioning and applying oils or serums is imperative. This will give your hair a healthy appearance and help prevent split ends. Please consult a specialist if you notice widened balding spots and hair thinning.
