How much I would wait- ponders the man,

Standing on the top of the boat, shrunken.

Water filling up through broken gaps,

This is his last voyage, perhaps.

He wants to breathe; he wants to live,

Thinking of swimming across after a dive.

Daunted by the waves, blue vastness,

He considers his option too reckless.

---

Waves crashing again and again,

Making the boat more shrunken.

---

A group of fish is swimming by,

He remembers his love close by.

---

I will swim across- thinks the person,

Gathering courage beyond any reason.

---

Eyes closed, praying, ready to dive,

Heart-pumping! “Is this the last chance to save my life?”

He stopped. Did he hear a shout?

A man is approaching in a boat.

---

A waving hand beckons the person,

Is it real? or just perception??
